Abstract

Although for many years the questions of employment in the People's Republic of China were officially said to be solved, three main employment problems were emerging towards the end of the 70s: unemployment and labor surplus, disproportions in the qualification structure of the labor force and misguided appointments in the labor allocation process. The reasons for this emergence and the proportions of present-day problems will be described and possible consequences of the current economic reform on the occupational situation will be discussed.
